Towing
Our experienced team provides reliable barge towing throughout the Monongahela, Ohio, and Cumberland river system, with a focus on safety, responsiveness, and operational excellence. Whether you’re planning long-haul moves or short-term transport, we’ll keep your cargo moving efficiently.
Affreightment
With a managed fleet of over 600 open hopper barges and extensive coverage across the Ohio, Cumberland, and Monongahela rivers, HFL has the resources and expertise to deliver reliable contractual agreements for seamless movement of your cargo in our barges through our proven line haul system.
Harbor & Fleeting
Harbor and Fleeting Services provide safe, efficient tug and barge support across the Ohio, Monongahela, and Allegheny Rivers, including vessel assist, shifting, fleeting, and short-haul movements. Fleeting services at exclusive locations along the Monongahela, Ohio, and Cumberland Rivers allow for streamlined barge staging, crew changes, and vessel support. Our strategically located facilities also offer secure tank barge fleeting and specialized support services to meet a wide range of operational needs.
Shipyard
HFL operates two shipyards on the Ohio River at Georgetown, PA, and Congo, WV. Services provided include two dry docks for boat and barge repair, dry cargo cleaning, and fiberglass cover repair. Both Shipyards also provide top-side vessel repair, shore power, crane barge assistance, and cargo transloading. At our Congo Facility, tank barge services include washing, cargo tank cleaning, top side machinery repair.
Tankermen Services
Tank barge services available range from make-ready inspections to hot-water detergent washes; annual prepping; ISE cargo tank/hull repair prepping; product steam heating/cleaning; engine, pump, pipe/vapor testing; and field services to meet all regulatory requirements and keep tank barges seaworthy.
